Vampira Cosmetica was born in New York City, at the intersection of Mexican gothic tradition and cholo culture — the altars, the prayers, the bold lines of barrio aesthetics meeting the depth of the underground. We are a brand rooted in darkness, but also in devotion.
Our founder grew up between two worlds: the altars of her grandmother's home in Mexico and the streets of New York City. In both places, beauty was ritual. Lipstick was armor. The red mouth of La Santa Muerte. The black lips of the girls in the back of the bus. Beauty as protection. Beauty as prayer.
Vampira Cosmetica is an extension of that. We make lipstick for those who move through the world with intention — who understand that putting on lipstick is not vanity, it is declaration. We make lipstick for those who have always known that darkness is not the opposite of beauty. It is its deepest expression.
